Russian sellers open pre-ordering for Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2

MOSCOW, Sep 2 (PRIME) -- Russia’s largest retailers have started taking pre-orders for Samsung’s new foldable smartphone Galaxy Z Fold2 with the price of 179,990 rubles and will open sales on September 18, representatives of the sellers told PRIME late on Tuesday.

“Pre-ordering was opened in our chain immediately after the official presentation, and sales will start on September 18. At the pre-ordering stage, buyers can choose the new device in black and bronze editions in installments or trade-in. The Galaxy Z Fold 2 is an innovative premium model that will certainly find its customers,” Svyaznoy Vice President for Purchases and Development Mikhail Dogadin said.

VimpelCom, a mobile operator that also runs a large retail chain, started accepting pre-orders and will offer premium services, like Samsung Care+ for a year, individual support Galaxy Z Fold2 Concierge, and assistance of the mobile service center.

An M.Video spokesperson said, “It should be taken into account that the Z Fold2, which is in the premium segment, is still a niche device. In the future, if the technology becomes more affordable, the shape factor of a foldable smartphone may be customary and massive. Samsung is moving in this direction already, the manufacturer earlier expanded the line with one more foldable smartphone Z Flip in a lower price segment.”
